How Many Calories Could Be In Your Halloween Bowl?

How many calories does the average kid eat on the night of Halloween? The answer is a bone-chilling 3500-7000…yikes! And while this number is less for adults, the temptation to sneak treats from the candy bowl in between trick-or-treaters is still there, and this is where our calorie counts can sneakily sky-rocket. One Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup can turn into five in the blink of an eye. Now that’s spooky.  Take a look at the calories in some of the most popular Halloween candies each year.
  • Snickers Fun Size: 80 calories per bar
  • Sweet Tarts: 60 calories in 13 pieces
  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups: 105 calories per cup
  • Almond Joy Fun Size: 80 calories per bar
  • Milky Way Fun Size: 80 calories per bar
  • Tootsie Roll: 110 calories in 10 minis
  • M&Ms: 230 calories per single size pack
  • Hershey’s Chocolate Fun Size: 77 calories per bar (63 calories per snack bar)
  • Candy corn: 140 calories per 19-piece serving
  • Kit Kat Fun Size: 210 calories per serving
  • Whoppers Fun Size: 190 calories in 6 pieces
Assuming you hand out ten of each of these treats throughout the night, your candy bowl would have held upwards of 10,000 calories. Yikes! So this Halloween, be sure to snack smart and know the ins and outs of what you’re putting in your body. When we do this, holidays stay fun, not stressful.
