Warning Signs for Diabetes that Everyone Should Know

November 1st marked the beginning of another National Diabetes Awareness Month, and this year we want to encourage readers to stay mindful of their health each and every day. Over 100 million people have been diagnosed with diabetes or prediabetes in the United States alone, and this number continues to climb. But for those especially at risk for Type 2 Diabetes, there are many warning signs to be aware of in order to get ahead of it and make a change.
  • Fatigue
  • Increased hunger or thirst
  • Irritability
  • Dry mouth
  • Itchy Skin
  • Skin Infections
  • Darkening of skin in areas of body creases
  • Nausea
  • Slow-healing wounds
  • Blurred Vision
  • Pain or numbness in hands and feet
These are only a few of the many warning signs your body will give you when it’s at risk. Take this month as an opportunity to check in with your body each day and increase your awareness of exactly what you’re feeling and where. Preventing diseases like diabetes begins when we make an effort to connect with ourselves.
